For the FULL version of UPSMON is allowed also Parallel functionality. This function allowed create groups of UPS, which is worked in redundant topology. You may create up to 10 groups. One group may contain up to 8 UPS (minimum is two UPS) and up to 32 event actions.
Enable parallel function: enable or disable parallel functionality.
Disable device actions and jobs: if is checked, then all standard reaction of
Upsagent main routines for non-standard UPS events is ignored and Upsagent check
only group’s status. If is unchecked, then Upsagent test except group’s events also
events for single UPS.
Note: also jobs action defined in Jobs dialog is also disabled for single devices if this
parameter is checked.
Lost communication status raise alarm level: best is example:
if it's defined 3 UPS in group and if it's defined action (shutdown) for AC Fail on minimum 2 UPS, then action is executed only if AC Fail status is detected on 2 or more (3) UPS's. But if communication with one UPS is lost, then AC Fail status from this UPS never will to be detected. This is dangerous situation, so if it's enabled this option, then if some (1 or more) UPS have losted communication, then Upsagent "thinks" that this UPS have also AC Fail (event if is not this status readed from UPS). Summary, the shutdown (action) will to be executed if one UPS have AC Fail and one another have Lost communication status.
Note: this logic is valid for all UPS alarm status.
Disable UPS and System shutdown for single UPS: shutdown delay and parameters defined for single UPS will to be ignored and for shutdown will to be used only group’s parameters.
Groups: user may add, modify or delete groups. To create parallel group click on the
Add button and then select from the list of UPS present in the system, those UPS that form the parallel group.
Note: to add select UPS to parallel group click on the left green arrow.
Note: to subtract select UPS from parallel group click on the right green arrow after you have select
one UPS from the list of UPS present in the parallel group.
ATTENTION: you must specify group name, add minimum two UPS (from list of UPS
monitored by Upsagent) and some action for group events. Maximum UPS for group is 8.
Redundancy level: defines the redundancy level of the parallel group: possible choices are N (default), N+1 (for groups with a minimum of 2 UPS), N+2 (for groups with a minimum of 3 UPS) and N+3 (for groups with a minimum of 4 UPS).
Note: a parallel group with redundancy N+i will stay active and operational even if “i” UPS within the group fail. The load will be shared between the remaining UPS.
Shutdown if group autonomy time is below than xx min: if some UPS from group is on battery and its battery remaining time is under the specified value, then system will to go to shutdown.
Note: if the redundancy level is N, the lowest backup time is considered; if it is N+1, the second lowest time is considered; if it is N+2, the third lowest time is considered, while if it is N+3, the fourth lowest time is considered, on so on.
Shutdown if all group UPS is on battery xx min: if all UPS from group is on battery more than specified time, then system shutdown will to be executed.
UPS Shutdown after system shutdown: delay interval for shutdown all groups UPS after system shutdown start.
Jobs: user may to specify up to 64 combined action and event per group (see Jobs configuration).
